Key Results as related to the Goal Concept

Organizational goals are primarily fundamental and must be prioritized so as actualize the organization’s vision. Management holds a very key role in making sure

that objectives are achieved and must therefore plan tasks and jobs inline with the achievement of these goals, whether long or short term.

Management must focus on specific key results that they feel will generally improve the organizational outlook. These expected key results must be made known to human resources prior to them being attained through performance contracts and regular memos. This way, the employees can own the process of attaining these goals, and much importantly, recognize what is expected of them.

A key aspect of the goal concept is to pair tasks that relate to one another so that achievement of the objectives has a higher probability of being attained. Common tasks, behaviors and jobs can be integrated, and this way, team work can be effectively achieved and also improving on the synergy of the organization.

Divergent, as opposed to convergent thinking is also an unavoidable facet as far as goal achievement is concerned. Having a divergent course is a remarkable way to best prop the achievement of objectives and targets. Having different approaches to attaining that set goal sets an excellent platform for the goal to be ultimately achieved even when one way fails to bare results.

Management is mandated with the much important task of setting executable organization policies and see to it that the interests of the organization are prioritized. This, they should do without undermining the human resources as they are key in implementing the set plans. Goals should be systematic, measurable, attainable, and realistic and time bound.

Focusing on important expected outcomes, pairing tasks that compliment each other and finally having different paths to achieve goals should therefore be on any organization’s management priority list if goals are to be effectively achieved.
