Distorted Perception of Conflict Episodes

Distorted perception of conflict episodes is an important propaganda technique used these days against the opponents to give them a bad name. This is done through media such as newspapers, pamphlets, documentaries etc. In this technique a small conflict is magnified many times or vice versa to earn a good name in the public, clients and the market.

Distorted perception of conflict episodes may be against an organization, a country or personality. This may include a family problem, a public revolt or a task failure.

Distorted perception of conflict episodes against a personality may involve personal life or public life of a person. This may include divorce, corruption charges etc. This can also b tagged as a character assassination campaign or a maligning campaign. In actual these charges might have no base but they give a bad repute to a person unless one clarifies oneself of the charges leveled against them.
Distorted perception of conflict episodes against an organization may include a task failure due to inter-departmental working relationships. This can be done by the human resource or customer care departments of the rival organization. It can be used to magnify a small incident as if a big loss to the company has occurred or a big loss can be nullified using strong media tactics.

Distorted perception of conflict episodes against countries has been used in recent past by many. Invading a country on the basis of the accusation of her developing weapons of mass destruction and then admitting that it was a mistake is a fact. It can also be used to magnify a revolt or vice versa i.e. a popular mass movement against a government can be shown of as small number of people demonstrating, and a small number can be magnified as millions revolting against the government. This all is a distorted perception of conflict episodes.
