This changing business world has given a completely new concept to the word marketing, where in the past businessmen used to have product and profit oriented approach towards conducting the businesses now the modern marketing concept has a customer oriented and marketing oriented approach.
The main reason behind this huge change in the marketing trend is the fact that the marketers have realized that the customer is the only way to success, if they make him happy they are going to be happy. Today the customers are a lot more conscious and aware about the products that they are using as well as what their rights are, therefore, making the customer satisfied is an essential for business today.
Customer Orientation
Customer orientation is a technique which has four main steps: development, manufacturing, marketing and delivery. Development is the first step in this process of customer orientation; this is the step where the marketers, after conducting the business survey, develop the products according to the needs and wants of their customers.
In manufacturing the products are manufactured according to the customers; after the manufacturing comes marketing which can make or break a business, as it is very important to target the right market to let the product make some profit, and then comes delivery, where the marketers have to make sure that the product is being delivered to the target market so that the customers can buy it.
Marketing Orientation
Marketing orientation is very much similar to the customer orientation, as this concept is also based on running a business which is based on the needs and wants of the customers and what kind of products attract them the most.
The main reason for these approaches to become so popular in so little time is the fact that the marketers have realized that today this is the way to conduct the business i.e. if they want to survive in this competitive business world.
