2. Rituals: It is the traditional social interactions that we encounter in our day today life. It is the normal interaction that take place at the same place in same situation. Example: "hi,good morning", " good bye,thanks".It is something like in wedding ceremonies, office parties etc..
This gives basic safety but doesnt satisfy his own personal needs.
3. Pastimes: It is something more than the rituals. Example: About a t.v commercial, cricket match, recent weather etc..It is generally a positive contact. It doesnt reveal anything about anyone personally. It can be regular and valued by both parties.
4 . Activities: It is the structure with consequences,goals and result. It is doing things with others for a common goal.example: Building a home, travelling,sports , recreation. The risk depends on the activity involved. Many friendships are based on their sharing of the activities.
5 . Games: When similar situations happen again and again it is called game in transaction analysis. The result is almost predictable . It is a behaviour pattern acquired from childhood situations. There are many degrees in game.They are,
First degree: happens in social circles, resulting in mild upset and no trauma is seen.
Second degree: happens in more intimate circle, resulting in high negative pay off.
Third degree : results in heavy injury ending in hospitals or in prison.
Games are played with different persons with varying length of time. It is mainly played to structure time, to recieve strokes and mainly to put emphasis that" i m ok and you are not ok." There will be hidden messages and false in game. In game there is a drama triangle with a victim, rescuer and prosecutor. We all fall in any one of the group.
6 . Intimacy: It is a state where there are no barriers . pain,fear,affection ,anger,love,hate and all the emotions shared between two people is intimacy. No secrets and no hidden messages. It is the genuine expression of emotions. People crave for the intimacy all throughout the life.
